Accessing Support – Referral Process
For Teachers
Teachers use a formal referral system if they have concerns about a student’s behaviour, learning or wellbeing. Before a referral is made, parental informed consent must be obtained.
For Parents
Parents can access School Psychology support by:
Speaking with their child’s classroom teacher
The teacher will discuss the concern with the leadership team
Next steps will be agreed upon, including whether a referral to the School Psychologist is appropriate
School Chaplaincy
Maida Vale Primary School is supported by YouthCARE Chaplaincy, which provides pastoral care and wellbeing support for students, staff and families.
Our Chaplain, Bwalia Phiri, works at the school Mondays and Tuesdays and focuses on:
- Offering pastoral care and emotional support
- Building positive, supportive relationships with students
- Acting as a mentor during times of need
- Being a link between the school, families and the wider community
- Supporting engagement in school life and social–emotional learning
Chaplains play a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming school environment and are an important part of our wellbeing approach.
Chaplain Referral Process
