Community Health Nurse

Our school is supported by a Community Health Nurse, who provides school health services to students and families throughout the year.

About the Community Health Nurse

Community Health Nurses deliver school health services in primary schools across Western Australia. They are employed by the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) and work closely with children, families and teachers to support students’ health, development and wellbeing.

Most families will already be familiar with these services, as CAHS supports children from birth through neonatology and child health services. Within the school setting, the Community Health Nurse plays an important role in promoting healthy development and helping students reach their full potential.

Support and Referrals

If a teacher or parent has any concerns about a student’s health or development and would like a nurse assessment, a Referral to Community Health Nurse form can be requested through the school.

  • Parental consent is required prior to all assessments
  • All services are free and confidential
